Brown Derby Bourbon
Here’s the perfect libation for watching the ponies or a winding down for the weekend. Featuring Basil Hayden Straight Bourbon and grapefruit juice, it’s tart, lightly sweet with a delightful spicy bite.
Ingredients
- ½ oz Basil Hayden Straight Bourbon
- ½ oz grapefruit juice
- ½ oz honey syrup*
- Grapefruit peel, for garnish
Directions
- Combine all ingredients, except for garnish, in a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with grapefruit peel.
- *Honey syrup: Combine ½ cup honey with ½ cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until honey is dissolved. Remove from heat, pour into an airtight container, let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
