Expert Reviews
The 2016 Scrimaglio Barolo is a beautiful showing that is already very expressive. It offers pretty aromas — cherries and raspberries woven together with dried violets, tar, licorice, herbs and fresh minerals, which all take shape as this unwinds in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and displays excellent overall balance and focus. It is supported by firm, yet well-polished tannins and a lovely sense of freshness that continues through the long finish. This is accessible now, but should also have a wonderful evolution over the next decade.

Spicy red-fruit character with hints of dried nuts. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins and a savory, mineral finish for now. This is very tight and needs time to expand in all directions. But the substance is sitting and waiting.
