Fruit for this wine comes from the proposed Rocky Reach appellation south of Chelan, an area that continues to show great promise. It's a blend of 35% Merlot, 35% Malbec and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The aromas start out reticent, with notes of tea leaf, spice, cherry and pencil eraser, and the flavors show purity and polish. There's a freshness to it that heightens the appeal. It also has plenty of structure.
