Shimmering ruby. Mineral- and spice-accented red and blue fruit, incense and floral qualities on the seductively perfumed nose. Concentrated yet energetic on the palate, offering intense black raspberry, cherry liqueur, boysenberry and candied rose flavors and a suggestion of Asian spices that builds on the back half. Finishes supple, sweet and extremely long, with lingering floral and spice notes and mounting tannins that lend shape and closing grip. Drink 2024 through 2034.

Rich and fleshy, with plump raspberry and black cherry flavors that bring in orange zest and toasty spice flavors and finish with refined tannins. Drink now through 2026.

This is quite tannic, with a chewy palate that suggests a fair amount of whole clusters were used. Slightly more than half the barrels were new, and this reserve is fashioned from some of the oldest vines in the AVA. Blackberry, black cherry, cedar plank and espresso flavors are in play. The fruit is lovely, but more bottle age is recommended to soften up the tannins.
