Pear Vanilla Gin Fizz
This drink is as beautiful to look at as it is to sip. Classic, dry gin is lightly sweetened with pear-vanilla syrup. Pear is known to be very complementary to the herbal notes found in gin, making this cocktail simply delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz Jacquin's London Tower London Dry Gin
- 2 Tbsp pear vanilla syrup*
- ¾ c soda water
- Pear slice, for garnish
- Brown sanding sugar, for garnish
*Pear Vanilla Syrup: Combine 1 cup blended Bartlett pears, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup water and ¼ cup vanilla syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes until the liquid becomes an amber color and the pears break down; stir frequently. Remove from heat, strain into an airtight container, let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.
Directions
- Rim a wineglass with brown sanding sugar and fill with ice.
- Combine first three ingredients in prepared glass; stir.
- Garnish with pear slice.
