October is Pennsylvania Wine Month

Pennsylvania has moved up to the fourth-largest producer of wine in the nation in 2024. With 400+ wineries and five main wine trails that weave their way through the state. You’re sure to find a wine to love.

Pennsylvania Wine History

Our wine history began in the 1600s when William Penn returned from Europe with vines from Bordeaux and planted them in the fertile grounds of Pennsylvania in what is now known as Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Sadly, over time they failed to thrive with a new host of bugs and unfamiliar diseases. However, a pollination of American hybrids nicknamed "wildlings" resulted and took root.

It's never been more satisfying to shop and sip wine from nearby than during Pennsylvania Wine Month. Cheers to the roots you've made in the state with a wine that has that very same trait in common.
