An immediate aromatic mélange of dark plums, ripe briar fruits, rich soil and fir trees present themselves on the nose — in essence, a high mountain cooking pit of smoked fruit. On the palate, similar dark fruits carry through and are complemented by flavors of dried fruit, fig compote and marmalade. Textured on the finish, a long chain of tannins lingers for what seems to be endless with a hint of fresh tartness.
