Cask Strength Release No. 1 is matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak casks of different ages, hand-selected by Gordon Motion, our Master Whisky Maker. It's then directly bottled — not chill-filtered — to ensure the essential DNA and natural color of our whisky stays intact. There's nothing in this single malt whisky other than the whisky itself. Nothing but the intensely balanced, award-winning spirit of Highland Park.

It's at once sweet and smoky on the nose, with aromas of violets and ripe vanilla pods amidst waves of aromatic peat smoke. On the palate, it's rich and full-bodied, with soft toffee, heather honey, freshly grated nutmeg and sun-ripened citrus fruits that give way to an exotically spiced crème brûlée finish.
