This is a terrific warm-weather red, opening with bold aromas of Bing cherry, raspberry, crushed violets and a touch of granite dust. The big fruit notes continue on the palate — more cherry and red berries — with floral accents and a hint of something spicy that grows with air. The fruit is ripe, but not sweet, and the finish long and smooth. Easy-drinking delight here with or without food and will take a light chill on a hot, sunny, day.
