This wine is a little rustic when young, but softens as it ages. It often has a dark color, aromas of fresh red fruit in its youth, candied fruit and sometimes animal aromatic nuances when ripe. Its flavor is firm, enhanced by good acidity and tannins. Serve with grilled meats (prime rib), poultry or cheese platter for older bottles. Serve lightly at room temperature.
