Discovery Series Explores Malbec
Malbec originated in the southwest of France where it’s also known as côt. When malbec vineyards in France suffered devastating frosts in 1956, Argentina, especially Mendoza, filled the demand and became famous as the new home of malbec.

Flavors and aromas of malbec.
Malbec is dark red, even purple in the glass, with fruit-forward aromatics of darker fruits like plum and blackberry. On the palate, malbec is full-bodied with medium tannins and low-to-medium acidity featuring flavors of blueberry, blackberry, violet and spice notes.

Serving malbec at its best.
Malbec should be served between 60°-65° F to properly express its fruity aromatics. Placing the bottle in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before serving will bring malbec to the ideal serving temperature.
