Exuberant plum, cassis and loganberry fruit spills forth, eventually harnessed by velvety tannins that carry the finish. Offers lots of licorice and briar hints. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Croix de Gay bursts into the room with rambunctious baked blueberries, Morello cherries, stewed plums and cedar chest scents plus hints of grilled meats, bay leaves, tar and fragrant soil. The full-bodied palate is generously fruited with herb sparks and black and blue fruit preserves, framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and earthy.
