A real beauty from this property surrounding an 11th-century fortress, the Ca' di Pesa 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva is a dark, luscious and attractive expression of Sangiovese that hits that sweet spot between elegance and power. This Riserva shows dark fruit aromas with wild plum and blackberry, but the wine is also nicely filled out at the rear with spice, soil and dark blueberry concentrate. Despite the potency of those primary aromas, the wine is pleasantly streamlined and tight in terms of mouthfeel.
