This sustainably farmed, single vineyard estate wine is composed of 100% hand harvested cabernet sauvignon from the Calchaqui Valley, Salta. This fruit-driven wine shows notes of black cherry, cassis and plum with a hint of black licorice on the nose. Good structure and solid tannin with touches of black olive and cedar on the finish.

Redcurrants, tobacco leaf, and cedarwood all emerge from the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Amauta, a medium-bodied, supple, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that has good overall balance, sweet tannins, and a good finish. I like its class, balance, and length, and it's going to evolve for a good 7-8 years, although there's no need to delay gratification. Drink 2023 through 2031.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Amauta Absoluto is 100% Cabernet from Finca Río Seco, Cafayate, where sandy soils transition into stony ones. Made using classic methods and unaged, the expression is dominated by pyrazines with clear woody notes. On the palate it has moderate freshness and a simple, pleasant flavor. Drink 2021 through 2026.
