Kubler Absinthe Superieure
Online Exclusive!
Absinthe has been banned in the United States since 1912. Kubler is the first genuine Swiss absinthe to be sold in this country in nearly 100 years. It comes from the Val-de-Travers where absinthe was invented in the late 19th century, and it is produced according to its original formula. Kubler 53 is distilled with herbs grown in the Val-de-Travers. Artemisia Absinthium--more commonly know as wormwood--is the primary ingredient in a formula that also includes coriander, mint, anise and fennel among other herbs and botanicals.
The Wine Enthusiast 85-89 points: 'Aromas of popcorn, vinyl, wet cement and chalk; aeration introduces a medicinal yet earthy odor. Palate entry features unfolding flavors of anise, metal, legumes and vegetable broth; at midpalate the alcohol intensity abates as tastes of mushrooms, black peppercorn, aniseed and chalk accelerate. Finish is extended, mossy and not too sweet. - P.P. - 85-89: Very Good/Recommended
