The International Wine Cellar 97 points: 'Glass-staining violet color. Impossibly complex aromas of red and dark berries, cherry-cola, incense, sexy oak spices and fruitcake. Broad, deeply concentrated black raspberry and boysenberry flavors reach every square millimeter of the palate and are enlivened by juicy acidity and sharpened by slow-building minerality. Musky violet and lavender pastille notes arrive late and carry into the finish, adding further dimension and complexity. This is somehow thick without being heavy, with incredible finishing sweetness, clarity and energy. Leaves dark berries and licorice behind, eventually. Truly remarkable stuff.' Sep 2008
