Graham’s wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de
Malhadas, also supply Graham with finest quality grapes. All five Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham’s also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their grapes to Graham’s for generations.
1969 SINGLE HARVEST
A few years ago Graham’s Port had the idea of releasing a Port that would pay tribute to their experience as a producer of premium tawnies. They took samples from 21 casks of the 1969 lot and tasted each one. They all proved to be of exceptional quality but there were six truly exceptional casks that stood out from the rest. It was these six casks that were chosen to create this special edition bottling. Each cask produced just 712 bottles. Each bottle will offer great pleasure to those fortunate enough to have the opportunity to enjoy it.
Awards and Reviews:
This is a limited-production colheita Port made from six selected barrels. It has a wonderful golden character, showing a series of woody flavors from the long barrel aging, while keeping a surprising amount of fruit. The spirit and the alcohol are almost irrelevant in this gorgeous wine that is absolutely ready to drink.
